I think of myself as a kind-hearted and empathetic person. I always offer words of encouragement and comfort to my residents. I want a career that puts a smile on peoples face when I help them do even the littlest of things like helping with their daily routine or even having a conversation or giving them compliments . For me being a caregiver over the years has helped me improve in being able to address and resolve issues quickly and effectively to ensure my residents health and safety is not compromised.

I've been in the Medical field every since i was 20 years of age my Mother told my Sister and myself get into a field that will never close down, or you won't have to look for a job in the next 5 years. Taking care of my Father of terminal cancer, and my Mother of having a stroke they've both passed on now, i've had other jobs but i always seem to come back to helping the elderly. they paved the way for us they have so much knowledge and wisdom. This is my calling to help the ones that paved the way for me knowing or unknowing.

The first time I ever thought about being a caregiver was when I was 22 years old.Having the feeling the need to take care of people other than yourself was never hard for me as I grew up in life.When my mother was sick going through dementia I took care of her throughout the whole process.It was as extremely difficult job because it was someone close to my heart,but I had to be her backbone that everything will be just fine which eventually did.She was getting her old self back which was great.So as far as that that's when I decided to make cargiving as my career.
