I enjoy being a caregiver since it started with my dad in 2004..i helped him to all his doctor appts....meds....and cancer until he passed in Nov 2004. Then mom got colon cancer cared and did everything for her to keep her happy...after that..in 2014 I worked for ppl partnerships...it makes me feel wonderful helping others in need and can use my laughter and time to comfort them..i love life and would help those that need me always...

Being a caregiver was always something that I wanted to do. I have taking care of people since I was 13 years old, I always take everyone that I work as a family member in my own home. I treat them like my parents. I always say to myself you treat person just like you would want to be treated or how you would want someone to treat your parents. I am I family oriented person, and I like to hear old stories from the elderly that I work with and their always a story.

I have always cared for people. When I was a young mother, I took in foster children, and, when I had elderly family, I took care of them. I treat my patients with respect and dignity. I have been asked many times if my patient was my loved one, (mother, grandmother, etc). I like being able to make my own days and hours, and, when I have a regular schedule, I keep it. One day a week I volunteer at Vitas Hospice. I am always prompt and ready to work when I arrive. Hello! I've been doing this since myy oldest was born, 13 years ago! I love learning anout another generation of life-the atories and things I've learned are amazing! I became a caregiver after we hired a hospice company for my grandmother, watching that lady give ao selfishly while my grandmother was passing was the reason I chose to become a care taker and chose to further my medical knowledge within the field. Since joining the field, I have taken the state teat as a direct worker, completed my schooling for a medical assistant and phlebotomy and continue to complete continuing educarions each year.
