Attention Plus Care

The desire to become a caregiver was the result of experiencing my husband's grandparents' slow decline without family in close proximity. This resulted in working in assisted living communities, then in-home care, and mostly recently in a full-care and rehabilitation community. It has been a passion of mine to assist others in any way I can. I've cooked, cleaned, ran errands, provided personal care, emptied or changed catheter bags, administered insulin shots, assisted with Hoyer lifts and si-to-stands, exercises following doctor's or therapist's instructions, dispensed medications per doctor's instructions and other family or community's requests. It has resulted in the most rewarding job I've ever held in all my years of employment.

I've been a caregiver for over 5 years now I like to help people and learn new things

I am a young vibrant woman that has a passion for caring for the elderly. My first job out of high school was a nursing home. That's where I fell in love with my clients. My grandmother was a huge idol in my life. Not only was she my best friend but she was a care giver also. I helped take care of her and my grandpa when they were too old and needed help. I love working with the elderly. I love talking and listening to their stories. I love sharing my stories, or just playing cards or watching tv together. I love helping in their everyday life, without them completely giving up independence.

Very patient and friendly. I enjoy caring for others and making them feel comfortable as possible. I understand that not every client will like me, but my main goal as a caregiver is to gain a clients trust. The one thing I am proud of, being a caregiver, is that I have gained the trust not only from my clients, but the family members as well.

I have care for my elderly grandparents for 3years now. I enjoyed talking stories going for walks and cooking. On my down times I like to clean around and wash clothes, maybe read a book. I enjoyed talking and learning from the elders. It brings joy to my heart when I see them smiles it makes my entire day okay. I like to see accomplishments it's why I chose this field because I know that if I can put a smile on a elderly person face especially if they are going through a rough time and they manage to smile it makes me happy.
