Hello my name shawnte. I am a loving and respectful young woman. I have a bubbly personality. I am very hard working. What made want to be a care giver is my life goal giving a helping hand and pass on a smile. I have experience in caregiving. I worked in a nursing home and also took care of an elderly Family member. I have the knowledge of a cna/gna because i had some training. I enjoyed this job because i love making people smile and taking care of people.

I became a caregiver, because I love helping people. As a kid I helped my mom care for my grandfather and after he passed I helped with my grandmother. I love the hands on part, I love working with different people and I enjoy listening to them talk, smile , and grow. It takes a lot to care for someone whose health isn't 100% it takes a special person to actually be able to connect to a person who sometimes have to get to know you all over each and everyday. It's amazing how some people can't remember there age, or what they may have ate earlier that day but when they see your face they know exactly who you are. It literally melts my heart. I love my profession it helps me just as much as I'm helping others. The only other profession I would do if I wasn't a nursing assistance would be to be a cop because I'll still be helping people who need me just as much as I need them. I became a caretaker because I lost my grandmother.. From that day forward I wanted to find a cure for cancer I was very upset.. I told myself I would enjoy life by helping and protecting others especially those that cannot do for them selfs or just need guidance.. I became a caregiver when my great grandmother got sick an the family couldn't take proper care of her.The best thing about being a caregiver is help people an letting them that there are people out there to help them an to see the smiles on there face amazes me.So far my best achievement was helping my grandmother out seeing her smile again made my life complete. I've been a CNA/GNA for 10 years I always keep my patients happy and clean. I love working with elderly people I think you can learn so much from them. I became a nursing assistant because I love taking care of elderly people and ill patients I want to an encouragement to my patients. I had a patient who was the same age as me and he is going to spend the rest of his life in an nursing home when he came to the nursing home he was not able to move or respond to anyone but his mother said every time he hear my voice he smile then when I say hello or ask are you ok he waves or gives me thumbs up. I've worked with patients on vent machine; psychiatric patients; dementia and alzheimer's patients and I also work as a medical receptionist at an OBGYN office. I currently have my medical billing certificate; CPR; and CNA/GNA.

I became a Certified nurse assistant, medication technique because of the love of helping people. after every shift, I fell more confident about myself for the difference I made in people life. As a young child, my grandmother was a private duty nurse in which she took me along to her job sites. I seen how gentle and caring she was with patients and would imagine that she had lain down the foundation for me to follow.
