I was a full time critical care registered nurse for 11 years. After retiring from nursing in November 2014 I took on the task of caring for my mother for approximately the last four months of her life. During the four months time, I was at my mothers bedside or in her residence 24 hours a day. I was the only link that she had with any dignity, because all of the activities of daily living she could not perform. I became her surrogate, and also her companion for the last months prior to her passing. This was quite frankly the most rewarding part of my care giving career that I have ever experienced. Being part of an individual's final days on earth and being able to take care of their every need, to include a companion toward the end, is very needed commodity and one I want to pass on to others. I am also an Army veteran, having served during the Gulf war of 1990 as a 1st Lieutenan. My reserve status ended in 2015..

I became a caregiver because I'm very passionate about caring for others who are in need. My personal achievement is knowing that I can help and assist someone else who needs help. I've been a CNA for 6 years and taking my lvn in January

I enjoy taking care of others that's unable to care for themselves. Meeting new clients and family's Becoming a certified nurse assistant and home health aide. I'm a loving and free spirited person, easy to get along with. Hard worker and very dependable

What makes me a great caregiver is I'm really patient with the clients take there feeling into consideration make sure they are comfortable and well taking care of .what made me become a caregiver/cna was helping people in need and give more experience when becoming a future nurse
