I assisted her with treatments, appointments, errands, showering, meals l, medications and her Hospice Care at the end of her life. My other elderly neighbor had lung cancer and decided against treatment. I was with her every step of the way. Appointments, Grocery Shopping,, Companionship, Cleaning and Cooking. When I say that my best friend was 74 years old when she passed away, I mean it. Friendship has no age barrier.

My name is Quinnette Mills and I have become a caregiver, because I always had a passion to care for the elderly who are unable to care for themselves. I know this job may not be someone's first choice, but for myself, I enjoy caring for the elderly and making their lives more comfortable. I like being a caregiver because, I am truly making a difference in their lives, I feel like I'm doing a good deed everyday. A personal achievement I am proud of is earning my certificate for a Certified Nurse Assistant, and recently have been promoted to teach younger CNA students and have them shadow my work to give them a jump start on their nursing journey. I am a hard-working and compassionate individual. I have been providing care to family members and relatives since my teenage years (40+ years). My mom was a cancer patient and I provided the care she needed up to the time of her passing in 2005. I have also worked with people who need help with medical and personal care, both babies and the elderly.
