I am a very optimistic and energetic person. I am very passionate about things that I do and people around me. I became interested in being a caregiver after my grandmother became sick and I started to care for her. I felt that since she did so much for me making sure she was as comfortable as possible was the least I could do for her in the end. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to be there and help other families in need who are going through similar things as me.

I have been working in the medical field for the past 17 years. I am currently a full-time student but have been looking for work to provide care to those in need. I grew up taking care of my grandmother who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, and I understand how important it is to have someone who is trustworthy and honest to care for a loved one. Because of my military experience, I am dependable, organized, and punctual. Through my medical experience, I have learned to have compassion and understanding with all patients I have cared for. I became a caregiver because I've always had the desire to be the medical field and because I love being a part something that helps people feel better whether its about themselves or what they're going through. I am a pre-medical student and am thoroughly knowledgeable in disease progression and management. I have been working at a cancer center and have become well-versed in the management of cancer, palliative care, and the side effects associated with systemic treatments and comfort measures. I have always put my patients before myself in my line of work and I will not walk away from a situation until it is completed and all questions have been answered. I put my entire heart into caring for patients and that is why it has been my calling in life. My introduction to healthcare began as a Hospital Corpsman (Medic) and Psychiatric Technician in the US Navy. After an honorable discharge, I gained valuable experience attending to a Army surgeon with whom I lived 9 years. I tended to his medical needs, managed his home care and was his personal assistant. To help others I get a lot of satisfaction out of my day knowing that I'm helping someone and it even makes bad days seem good. I remember 2 days ago there was an elderly lady at McDonalds and she was having difficulty walking, I just got out of my medical assistant class for the day. She tries to walk over to get something to drink from the soda stand and as she was struggling to get there I immediately got out of my seat (tired and all) and asked her to sit and rest while I get the drink for her. It makes me feel good to be able to do that. I'm proper, educated, always great in appearence, I workout to stay fit and so if any heavy lifting is required I can accomplish it, I'm very outgoing and I'm always talking to people to know more about people in general, people will never feel bored around me and that's why I decided to go to school for medical assistant and eventually a RN.
