Hello my name is Alfreda Johnson I'm 20 years of age. I've always had a passion of helping other when I was a young child. My mother have an organization called "Save Our Youth Savannah" helping others always been a motive/passion for me. Caring for my grandma inspired me to become a caregiver. I cared for her for years, and through that experience, I learned that I'm passionate about helping people and improving the daily lives of those in need of care. I had one gentleman who would always buzz me to attend to him, but because he was experiencing memory loss and dementia, when I arrived he would forget he just buzzed me for the same thing. I always showed him kindness and patience, and as a result, he requested me as his caregiver when he left the group home to live with a family member. They hired me for in-home care.

I've worked for companies like Help At Home and Comfort Keepers learning great caregiving skills like assisting with toileting, showering, dressing, transferring, meal prep and etc. I've been attracted to caregiving since 2016 when I had to assist with my grandmother before she died and every since I've been working doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the fact that I can help some of theses people get this independence back, or even just being able to be that person who they look forward to for the extra help with daily living activities. I became a caregiver when my mother got sick and died back in 1995,After that I worked for hospice for two and half years.I like working for the elderly so that I did it or being doing it for over twentie years.Now that I work for A homehealth agency I would like to get back into private care.
