As a little girl, my mom always took me to work with her. She's a caregiver. As I became an adult, I love helping elderly people. I love to help, cook, clean, and sit and talk to them. Working with and helping elderly people makes me feel good. I feel it's my job to help people who can't do for themselves.

I am very patient and caring, I love people. I have really enjoyed working with the mentally challenged, but really don't want to work full time. I feel I am a good caregiver in many ways because I truly care and enjoy people. I'm very down to earth and easily amused. I worked with seniors for 10 yrs. I am a certified HHA. I should be a CNA but was not able to pass the state board testing here in Fl. I am going to give it another shot, I passed the written but failed the clinical testing due to a minor error. I took a CNA pep course and feel I'm very qualified, but just don't have that piece of paper. I am looking for P/T work in the St. Augustine area. I have lived here for 3 yrs. I lived in Jacksonville for 20 yrs. I raised my children there and they are still there, as well as my grand daughter. I hope to here from someone soon who needs some assistance. I put my notice in at Center for Living and will be helping my boyfriend with his collectables shop, and having a lot of yard sales....Wish me luck!!!

I think that what make me a great caregiver is because I care for others, first and foremost, in addition of being trustworthy, respectful, and hard worker. I’m also mature, clean, and follow instructions well. I worked in private homes for over 10 years, taking care of patients suffering from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, and dementia, among others; also, a special needs boy, who has been suffering from cerebral palsy. The duties I performed while working with these patients were (but not limited to): transferring, grooming, cooking, cleaning, giving medications, taking vital signs, encouraging exercises, reading, and talking. It satisfies me when I feel that the patient I’m caring for are comfortable when I’m around and when they respond positively to activities.
