Job opportunity for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dependable caregiver located in Colorado Springs, CO to help care for Husband. A great opportunity to work privately in a loving home. We are each on Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage Plan that provides us with 32 hours/month total of non-medical home care. You’ll need to meet Kaiser’s requirements for this job. Care is needed 2 days per week in the afternoon and occasional evenings. Ideally 8 hours per week of help would start in mid-January 2022 when CareLinx begins administering this Kaiser benefit. Duties and responsibilities of the caregiver will include meal prep, housekeeping, exercise, and companionship to keep his mind active, such as helping with photography, art projects, and hiking and biking with both of us and/or him alone. If allowed by Kaiser Permanente, our vehicle can be used to drive him, or both of us. Dedicated and serious applicants only. We are using Teepa Snow's PAC (Positive Approach to Care) GEMS model to make our dementia journey smoother. If you are not trained in this approach, no worries. I can explain it when we meet. We’d appreciate it if you’d be willing to perform tasks, such as raking leaves, sweeping the floor, cleaning the bathroom, etc., with my Husband so that he will feel that he also is contributing to our household. If my husband's condition declines, and you make a good connection with him and you feel comfortable with both of us in a live-in situation, that may be a possibility. Of course, we hope that doesn't happen for quite some time.
