Hello, My parents have a current need for caregiver services. Let me tell you a little bit about my parents and the services that they need: My mom is 74 year old and is in the early stages of dementia. She is still very with it overall. She knows everyone and everything that is going on around her. She still has her reasoning skills, sense of humor, etc. She has a lovely personality. She was a high school math teacher her entire career. The disease is starting to impact her physically (rigid body, shuffling of feet when walking, etc.) but she is still fully capable of walking around and regularly does light chores in the house, yard, and gardening. Just recently, upon her doctor's advice, she is no longer able to drive the car. My dad is 90 and is fully normal mentally. He does have some physical movement limitations but is still self sufficient (he can bath himself, use the bathroom himself, etc.). He uses a walker to move around the house and has difficulty with stairs. The services I would like to receive for them is for you to spend 3 days a week with them (with the potential for more, depending on how it goes), helping with the following activities: - Transportation for errands and appointments (grocery store, doctor's appointments, shopping, etc.) - Light housekeeping and household assistance - Meal preparation and organization - Providing companionship and social interaction My parents live in Golden Valley and I live in very close proximity to my parents. My wife and I have been taking care of them ourselves up until this point. I think we have reached the stage (especially with my mom now not being able to drive) where we need to get some outside help for a couple of days a week. My wife and I both have full time jobs.
