We are looking for an interactive, genuine caregiver to provide loving care to our adult daughter with Rett syndrome. The position requires live in care in a large spacious 2 bedroom apartment. She attends a day program Monday – Friday from 8-3 making it possible for the caregiver to have another job that’s flexible, pursue hobbies or other interests during those hours. Caregiver will share our two bedroom apartment with our daughter. It has a nice kitchen, large living area, storage and laundry room. Compensation is more than just the income. Housing, utilities, food allowance, respite and other benefits are in addition to the monthly wage. Awesome opportunity for the right person (or couple). Care-giver responsibilities: Assist with daily living skills; bathing, hair care, feeding, dressing and have her ready for day program pick up. Meal prep, house cleaning, (medical record tracking and reporting). Be home when day program van drops her off, provide care, engaged companionship and entertainment for afternoon and evening. Make dinner and aid in bedtime routine. All-day care on weekends and holidays. Attend church together. Respite (time off) will be provided on a consistent basis. Must be a kind and compassionate person. Experience working with special needs is helpful. Must be independent yet enjoy other people. Knowledge on cleaning, laundry and cooking. Budgeting is also helpful. Conscientious about paperwork. English speaking is a must. Honest, trustworthy, dedicated and religious are expected. Personal transportation is required. Due to circumstances, having other children living with the caregiver is not reasonable.
