About Laurie

I became a live in caregiver because I love helping people, I enjoy giving them hope, showing them ways to bring joy in their lives. Helping them feel like they have so much to offer even as they age. It brings me great JOY to see their smiles even when they may be having a rough day. we get through the day together. I offer gentle massage after baths to help them relax. Daily Exercise, meals, housekeeping, companionship, love. Transportation to dr's appts & outings & so much more! I'm a mother to 2 grown children & I have 1 beautiful miracle granddaughter! I enjoy sewing, photography & I love to do simple crafts w/my gals & the man I have cared for enjoyed a good conversation, or read to them or with them. I'm comfortable w/most anyone I love people, I love to make people smile! Light housekeeping, transportation & avail for part time positions. I currently have available 2 part time slots open for up to 24 hrs each. Or 1 ft position open. Will work also part time or full time here in Redding, Anderson or Cottonwood. I am seeking a live in position in most anywhere in CA prefer country living (Excluding Southern California) Coast, mountains, rivers, lakes etc I look forward to discussing what your needs are & how I might help!

Dr's appts, hospital admissions, staying with him till he was asleep. Managed medications. He recently went back to his daughters & he said I was the best caregiver, anyone would be lucky to have me.

All aspects of daily living, she was wheel chair bound, toileting,bathing, medication management 3x a day, breathing treatments, O2, exercises, puzzles, preparing all meals & goodies. Transportation to all appointments Dressing her, styling her hair, massage, housekeeping, laundry. Anything she needed I did w/a song in my heart & a spring in my step Tucking her in at night. What she did for me is provide me w/inspiration to lose weight & be healthy, together we walked through my journey of me losing 115lbs, she was always telling me to get out & walk & swim & together we ate healthy treats & my weight came off!! She taught me so much about raising adult children, she gave many suggestions on how to not spoil my granddaughter. I miss her so much she was a huge part of our lives for 2 yrs, I know she's healthy & strong & dancing w/Jesus & her husband & this makes me very happy & at peace. I was with her laying right beside her & singing to her when she took her last breath.

This couple came up to Redding from the Walnut Creek area to attend some Christmas functions. I cared for her husband who by the way is a real sweetheart. His needs were, transfers, toileting, bathing, companionship & emptying his urine bag. I also chose to do some extra things for them Jerrie & Bob came over to my home and baked a cheesecake that she wanted to take to her Christmas party. So we had tea & cookies w/bob & I transferred him several times back & forth in the car & in to my home. It was so nice to be able to help them. They might be stuck in Redding for a few more days & I will do whatever needs to be done to help them w/this. I realized once again how much I love this work. If I could afford to do it for free I most certainly would!! Unfortunately I can't work for free, I sure love my work!!
