*I worked in a nursing home as a nursing assistant in 1978-1979 in Rochestor Methodist Hospital and Cannon Falls Nursing Home in Cannon Falls, MN. *I filled in for a friend as a caregiver for a bit...helping with showering, getting her dressed, preparing meals, light housekeeping and companionship, getting her ready for bed...in the Minneapolis, MN area in about 2002. * I cared for both my mom and dad at separate times following each of their rotator cuff surgeries in the 1990s. *I cared for my mom in 1992 following her back surgery...including bathing, dressing, meals, maintaining meds and icing schedule and transferring her...including light housekeeping duties. *More recently, I cared for my friend Mona Dill (425-281-8344) from Carnation, WA. I drove her to the hospital for shoulder sugery, stayed there and drove her home. I managed her pain meds, meals, laundry, ice, and made her comfortable and stayed with her for 3 nights and 2 days. *I stayed with my Grandmother-in-law and my dad in their last hours/days of life and was able to be a support for them before their deaths. *I assisted both of my granddaughters births. *Besides raising and homeschooling my 3 children for 11 years. I provided childcare for my 2 granddaughters from birth to 5 years of age, with all that it entails, which is quite similar to caring for elderly in some ways. I have had alot of experience with caring for people of all ages.I know I have assisted alot more, but cannot recall at this time.
