I am 52 years old, married and a mother of three adult children. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education Degree 30 years ago and taught school before choosing to stay home to raise my children. Six years ago, I reentered the workplace as a merchandiser for a company that pays me well and is good to me. Nevertheless, I am changing careers because I feel called to be an in-home companion/caretaker to the elderly. My passion has always been in caring for others. I am gifted in the ability to discern unspoken needs of those who are suffering. This ability proved most helpful in caring for my mom during her last four years with us. My mom died last year of complications from Alzheimer's disease. I know, firsthand, how important it is to find a patient, caring, dependable companion for an aging loved one who desires to remain at home living with dignity and joy despite illness. In my life, I have enjoyed caring for many people in need: among them, two people recovering from open heart surgery (one, a friend, the second, my mom) and a 10-year-old boy wheelchair bound and reliant on a feeding tube. My heart's desire is to be a companion/caretaker to help families with aging loved ones at home.

I like best about care giving is meeting new people and providing caregiving services that they can no longer do for themselves.
