About Elaine

I have always loved the nursing field from a very young age. It was my hope to be a RN but I wasn't able to pursue that line of work. I received my CNA liscense in 1998 and started working in convalescent home, then I work private duty from there on. If i can lift the spirit of a person that is having a difficult time, then I have done my job. If I can make that person smile or laugh that brightens my day. Whether cleaning, reading book to someone, helping them or fixing a meal; these can reduce the stress an elderly person feels. Sometime the other caregiver need a break. I assure the members of the family that all will be well. Being a caregiver give me a sense of pride. I know that all people are not the same, but if I can help one person relax or show them a better way to attain the results needed to help them, my job has been accomplish. My personal achievement was to see a person walk after having a stroke.. I have been in the business of health care since 1998. I just love being around the elderly client. You can learn so much about them and the things they have been through. All you have to do is listen

Pass meal trays and nourishments, and feed or assist to feed residents according to their tray cards.  Position residents for comfort and to prevent skin pressure problems. Take and record vital signs as requested by Charge Nurse and take and record weights of residents as requested by Medical Record designee.  Assist in maintaining resident rooms and program rooms, and any other work areas in a clean and sanitary order. Assist with transferring residents in and out of wheelchairs and adaptive equipment.  Follow safe lifting techniques and individual resident lifting instructions and following the 2-person lift. Assist residents to achieve preassigned programming goals and to increase their independence.
