I became a caregiver simply to help elderly adults that can no longer help themselves. I love helping them continue to do the things they were used to in the privacy of their own homes. I love cooking, cleaning, and assisting my clients with personal care. With my assistance the elderly get to "Grow old Gracefully with Dignity" in their own home. No money can give me the satisfaction of seeing the smiles on their face, and the peace in their presence. I'm a Christian, that feels like it's everyone's duty to help your neighbors.
Hi my name is Dichanta Ramsey. I am 22 years old and currently a jr. in college, I attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham majoring in Social Work. I have also volunteered at UAB hospital sitting in with different patent who wanted company or just wanted to talk or read together , as well I cared for 2 of my aunts who both had cancer. After helping care for my aunt before she passed, I realized how many other elderly people really don't have anyone to really help them out. So I decided to start volunteering and helping more. I love to see people smile and happy. Also I have experience in food prep, cleaning, transportation, grooming.
I'm a 30 year old mother of two, I have been doing CNA and home health care since I was 19. The reason for my passion and love behind what I do comes from the love I had for my grandmother, she became sick when I was ten and she passed when I was thirteen. Her passing hurt me to know that as a young child I could do nothing to help, even though I was by her side to do what I could to care for her. To know as an adult I could make a difference gave me the drive that I needed to make a difference. Being a CNA gives me the chance to give the love and care to a families' love one in which may be the hardest time having to transition from having a family member to go from taking care of themselves to not being able to do as much. My most proud achievement was April 10 2017 when after doing the job of a CNA and Home health care for 11 years I finally had got the official title besides my kids that was the proudest day of my life it might not mean nothing to some but it means everything to me.
I have always had a love for the elderly. Sitting and listening to their memories or playing a game of dominoes. I cared for my elderly father in law the last year+ of his life and know it helped extend his life with us. My own parents now live in assisted living while my mother lives out her last years with dementia. And I appreciate the care that they receive. So I know I can give quality care to your loved one as well.
What makes me a good caregiver is I can stay calm in stressful situations. I'm a great listener and im good with people. And in good at taking care of other people. I enjoy taking care of people. It makes me feel Like im useful. And makes me happy knowing I am capable of taking care of someone.
What makes me a great Caregiver is God's Love and Compassion I Have for people. My Passion is taking care of the elderly. I have a Wonderful and Bubbly personality that will change the atmosphere when I walk in. What attracted me to being a caregiver because I took care of my granda which suffered from being partially Blind and suffered from Prostate Cancer until he passed away at 97. I took care of my aunt which suffered with Kidney problems back and forth to dialysis and she suffered a stroke on Left side. I also was a Live in for two brothers one with Cancer and one with Diabetes with one leg amputation. There is nothing really more to say is that I took care of them because I love helping people and they requested me to be their caregivers. This is what attracted me , It felt so me like this was what I was born to do. What I Love the Most about being a Caregiver is Listening at their stories and making them happy. I Love going beyond to make sure they are comfortable.. What I mean going beyond. I may massage their hurting hands, Legs and feet or cook their favorite meal or transport them to an outing to get some fresh air. Just to help them stay Mobile and keep their spirits alive. Sometimes they lose their confidence and they need their nails or toes Polished or assist them with things they used to do that they thought was gone. My Personal achievement that I am proud of is starting my own Business.
I have a very kind heart and a passion to help others who are in need of assistance. My grandfather taught me the compassion for caring about others, especially the elderly. My grandfather had Dementia and severe back problems and always needed my assistance when I was growing up. I truly believe I have what it takes to help others and to be a great companion.

I like to consider myself as outgoing simply because I meet no strangers. I can be talkative at times and I do strongly enjoy the company of others. The thought of being a caregiver is something that I've always wanted to experience. The fact that my duties would mostly be composed of daily household things I would be more than willing to do that especially for someone who not only needs it but would greatly appreciate it in the long run. That is a feeling like no other, it would give me such a high sense of pride in my daily work. I would love to be given the opportunity to come and work for you.
