I became a caregiver because, I loved caring for my father at home even before he became ill and when he did get ill I wanted to be sure that he was given the best care. I love being a caregiver because, there's nothing more rewarding than loving and caring for others and giving of yourself to make someone else life a lot more brighter and loving others and treating them in the way that I would want to be treated. I'm proud of myself because I have achieved the goal of losing weight! 21 pounds! I have a very funny personality, I love to sing and make a joyful sound in song! I am very up beat and I like to encourage others!

    I work the night shift and I assist residents with Medication and blood sugar checks on a 6 am medication / Med pass, I wash their laundry, I assist them with their meals and drinks in the dinning area, I chart and sign off on their meal and laundry folders. I have to sign off on their Medication book, I have to count out on the all the Narcotics medication, and sign the books. I make 2 hour rounds to make sure everyone is alright during the night and I have to make sure everyone is up for breakfast and ready to go out to their program.

    I took care of Mr.Rogers for 8 years and 3 months and a few days. I arrived at 8 am and I assisted Mr. Rogers up and out of bed,I gave him a shower 3 days a week, I dressed him, I groomed him, combed his hair, gave him a shave, cut and clipped his finger nails and toe nails, I prepared him 2 light meals a day, breakfast and lunch, I made sure he took his medicine as needed. I sang his favorite songs as I cared for him throughout the day! which he really enjoyed hearing me sing! He would say, Carolyn, you sound like an angel!
