I am still his Caregiver on very rare occasions now as my family has hired someone closer to him. Caregiving is not just a job for me. I am a recently divorced 38 yr old mother of two young boys. I needed a 2nd income but could also be flexible with my family. I have always taken care of family and friends my whole life. At the age of 17, I started caring for a woman from my church with MS on the weekends until she passed away. And it took off from there. I have always been a caregiver even to my mother as she battled cancer. I have such a warm heart and helping hand to those who need assistance. The hardest part in life is being in a place where you need help. My heart is to not make that place seem so hard to be in. I want to bless someone with the gifts I hold dear such as, cooking, cleaning, and nurturing.
I lovingly took care of my elderly mother-in-law for 5 years in my home. She was my sidekick and best friend. I assisted her with every facet of aging. I helped her with bathing, diaper changes, grooming, turning, mobility, entertainment, and I was there with her through every hospital stay and in her final days on hospice at home. I am glad I was able to give her the dignity and respect she deserved and I love that I was able to keep her at home where she wanted to be.
After in-home caregiving for my great grandmother and outpatient caregiving for my two grandparents, I felt drawn to helping people who could no longer help themselves. I graduated a year early from high school to become my great grandmother's caregiver at 17. I was with her for a year before she relocated to live with her two nephews. For my two grandparents, I traveled from my home in Searcy to Portland to stay for approximately 4 months during my grandfather's cancer treatment recovery. Caregiving has been the most fulfilling work I have ever been able to do, and though I have not been a part of the caregiving world for very long, I do intend on making a career out of it.
I am 51 & I love helping others. Some years ago I was in a car accident & had to learn the way of living again. I do have a limp & cannot get on my knee s to do any work. Because of all I went through & have to be conscious of my surroundings. It makes it easier for me to be in tune with my client. I have experienced the role of needing a caregiver. All though I have a limp I am totally capable of helping & securing the safety of the client. I love helping people and being apart of bringing peace & comfort to families.
Hi, I'm Renota. I have 28 plus years experience in elderly and senior care. I started out in a nursing facility in 1989. When I trained, we were taught to care for total care (bed patients) as well as independent living, and high risk patients. I am skilled, and very passionate about the care others because solely, I am responsible for their physical, mental and spiritual care, and I take pride in serving others. I've learned so much from the people I've worked with, and hopefully they've learned from me as well. What keeps me attracted to the care of others is the compassion I feel when I'm caring for the individuals I am with. I have a special spot in my heart for Alzheimer's became I am their eyes, ears, and their voice in this world, and I feel the need to be there for them. I am a very flexible individual as I enjoy working in my yard, therefore it makes it easy for me to assist with individuals that enjoy their yard as well, and also alleviates the fear of leaving your loved ones alone. I enjoy pets, so there's never a problem with my being around them. I work well hand-in-hand with hospice care, and able to maintain records, monitor vitals, medicines and report progress to supervisor, physicians and or medical personnel as needed.

I got into being a caregiver at the young age of 16 I would go to a nursing home and volunteer with the Hospic patients. Being able to make There day and time special meant something to me. So every since then I knew my calling was to be a caregiver to selfless and being able to help others has been the best journey of my life. The best gift I can get out of being a caregiver is being able to give the patient what they need and knowing I made a difference in there life when they needed it the most. The most rewarding and biggest achievement I have gotten out of my passion for caregiving was working with a Patient who had Huntington's disease, I was very close to her and her family and knowing I made a difference in her life all the way to the end lent the world to me. I love being a caregiver it is a passion it isn't just work for me never has been.
I personally have never been a caregiver. But I was raised in a stabled loving environment with both parents and siblings. We were taught Patience, Compassion, Attentiveness, Dependability & Trust worthiness. I enjoy doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life.
I have over 15 years caring for special needs, disabled, and seniors. I am a licensed certified nursing assistant and metaphysical practitioner. I take a holistic approach caring for my clients one thing I notice in the healthcare field is there is a lack of caring for the clients total well-being body, mind and spirit. As a metaphysical minister I am aware of how a positive mentality can help people heal much faster. It is very important to create a positive environment that helps client feel balanced and focus on healing. I am qualified to provide holistic energy therapy, meditation techniques to help manage pain if needed I can provide spiritual support.
