I am Virginia Board Certified Nursing Assistant with over five years of home health and assisted living care. After raising four children I returned to school and became certified as a Home Health Aid, Nursing Assistant as well as Phlebotomy Tech. I took care of my sick mother until she passed away. Later, a friend introduced me to the field of caregiving. Though I had formerly been a school teacher, caregiving fit like a glove. A client once asked me why I chose this profession, and I told her that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I offer personal care, housekeeping services, and companionship. When my client was dying, I held her hand the entire time, not knowing that the daughter had entered the room and observed my action. After her death I received a note from the daughter describing how she had been touched by my action. As a former teacher, I am punctual, compassionate, empathetic, and sentimental; I laugh and cry with my clients. My current job involves caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. I have recently been providing a client with personal hygiene in the morning through CareLinx.

I love treating others well as a Caregiver because I always have it in mind that with life one should expect a lot of changes, challenges and experiences and these may be getting sick, accidents or growing old because it is the order of the day. So, I always imagine myself into that person's situation Iam caring for. The question that pops up in my head is what if that's me, my parents or my lovely daughter. This prompts me to treat others the same way I would wish to be treated or cared for in case I was in that position. My greatest achievement is putting a smile on someone i have given care for.
