About Sarah

I am an energetic and outgoing person who enjoys the companionship of others and helping people maintain a sense of independence and integrity. I have a passion for helping others after experiencing the passing of my father-in-law to complications of his COPD and caring for my husband who was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Some things, I believe, I learned through life experience. I gained more from caring for his colostomy, post surgical wounds, medications, than any classroom could have taught me. I learned more about compassion, love, and strength of individuals watching each of these men face their adversities with such courage. Since working in an assisted living facility my greatest achievement has been the relationships I have built and the satisfaction that, just in one moment, I have done a good job. I also learned that the environment doesn't allow for me to focus the amount of time and attention I wish to put into the individual I'm working with. Building trusting relationships and doing a great service means more to me than the quantity of people I help. I love to listen and learn from others and truly feel who the individual is.
