What helps me be a great caregiver is being who I am. I was born with great compassion for overs and their well-being. What makes me a great caregiver cuz I'm a people person and I have compassion and I care about how the how they feel. She would take me to work with her and let me help with the residents (mainly just talking with them at that age). Once I got older I tried a few different types of jobs, didn't like them, and then tried caregiving and realized it was the work for me. I love it. I get to build connections with the elderly (who I still enjoy talking to as much as I did as a kid), work in a homely environment, and do things I actually enjoy like cooking and cleaning.
