I have more then 5 years of experience working as a CNA and a live in caregiver for home care agencies and have worked in nursing/retirement homes as well. Dependability, reliability, kindness, empathy, calm nature are few of my strongest traits in taking care of my loved ones. I grew up with my grandparents and naturally we take care of our own as it is a cultural thing. I love being around seniors and assist in whatever way I can as they remind me so much of my grandparents who lovingly took cared of us. Making them smile and making them feel comfortable makes me feel complete and happy.

I feel I am a great caregiver because, I absolutely love making people happy, well, and alive. I am a very honest, trustworthy person, and I except nothing less from others. I have great respect for others, and their privacy. I have had my CNA license for 6 years, and I did home health for 10 years, with a few extra training courses including, Dementia & Alzheimer's training, wound care, medicine and 1 year internship for Mortuary School. I am a quick learner and follow instructions given. I keep a daily log of all events, meds given, and give full daily reports when requested. I am aware of all HIPPA laws and abide by them. I am reachable at all times on or off the work schedule provided. I am willing to work extra hours/shifts in all situations. I am always on time. I am very compassionate, I have a powerful desire to help people. Always 100% dedicated to helping my residents/clients. I take my time to find out the exact needs of all residents. I have empathy to get to know all my residents to get a close bond. What attracted me to be a caregiver is when my grandmother got very sick and I was the only one willing to help her for 2 years. I got really into it and enjoyed what I did. I realized I didn't want to just help my grandmother I wanted to help other people as well. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the bond I make with each resident and knowing they're getting the proper care when I help them, and providing them with a happy and comfortable life. The personal achievements I'm most proud of is knowing my family and other families appreciates my help and kindness when leaving me with their beloved ones. Also, learning how to help each resident with their different health problems or diseases.

I realized I fell in love with caregiving when going to work was less of work feeling and more of a it makes me happy feeling. I love my job because of my residents. They are what make it worth while for me. The type of serotonin I get from it makes for an amazing caregiving as myself. The bond I have held and compassion for my residents is on another level. They are my pride and joy and I love them so much. I have so much compassion in what I do and I am proud of what I do. That is what makes a good caregiver. I am patient with them and I try and understand their needs and wants. You need to have empathy as I have for them. I enjoy spending time with my residents but what I love most is seeing them heal. As I am also in a rehabilitation center, I strive to make them healthier and visually seeing that they are getting better makes me feel so happy. One of my biggest achievements as a nursing assistant is seeing them become better, most of my achievements are making the residents happier and that is so big to me, so thank you so much in advance for taking the next steps with me and you will not regret it.
