I am a great caregiver because I love what I do, helping people. I am very patient, as I have 5 kids and it comes easy to me. I take direction well and remember routine. I was attracted to being a caregiver because I have had a few family experiences with close members where I have stepped up and help with end of life care or cancer care. I have a very outgoing personality and can get along with just about anybody, im very easy going caring and compassionate. I have been doing caregiving work for 22 years on and off. I have worked for companies as well as done it on my own. I am a natural born caregiver, i have always enjoyed taking care of other people. I have worked with all ages and all types. I have experience in developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, health issues, dietary issues, stroke recovery, post surgical and elderly care to list a few. To me caregiving is very rewarding to help people live their lives to the fullest. I was a single momma of 3 and i put myself through nursing school for my RN. The only thing i have left to get my RN degree is the clinicals and i WILL accomplish it if its the last thing i do.

I respect the families requests as long as the care doesn't interfere with their personal rights. I've enjoyed caregiving because I'm able to utilize my personal gifts in giving freely without judgement. I observe by clients to learn their personality traits. By doing this I'm able to communicate effectively. Each client deserves their own care plan based on their own personal needs. I've worked with mentally disabled clients and I'm able to read their needs and requests without verbal communication because I'm in caring for them whole hearted.

My compassion and empathy I believe make me a good care giver. I started in the health care field at 14 years old working at an Assisted Living Facality in Palisade, Colorado. I have done health care in varying degrees ever since (am 36 years old now) so for a total of 22 years. I have worked in Nursing Homes (as a CNA), Assisted Living Homes (as a caregiver / QMAP), Independant Living ( as a caregiver / QMAP), and Home Health Care.
