I became a caregiver at 14 for my grandmother and grandfather, and I fell in love with the work I was doing. After that, I realized that what I wanted to do for the rest of my life was to take care of and help those in need. I am CPR certified by the American Heart Association in infant, child, and adult BLS. When I was 19, my Mom was diagnosed with Cancer. Spending much of my time inside hospitals, skilled nursing homes, and at home with Mom, I had an opportunity to see first hand the difference between a truly good Caregiver/CNA and the ones who...weren't so good. I decided that I would get my Certificate so that I could be one of those good ones who truly touched people's lives. I fell in love with the profession, and have been doing this work for almost twenty years since. I truly love having the opportunity to provide the best Care Giving experience possible to all those I care for. One personal achieve I'm most proud of is the time I cleared the airway using the Heimlich Maneuver on a choking patient at a hospital I was working at. Although this particular patient was not assigned to me that day, the CNA caring for her was fresh out of school and panicked when the patient began choking on her breakfast. I was passing the room when I heard the CNA call for help. I recognized immediately that the patient was choking, pulled her into position and did the Heimlich until the food was dislodged. By the time the nurses responded, I had her airway clear and received a round of applause!

I'm a caregiver cause I enjoy taking care of people and what i like the most is when i get someone to smile.

Hello, I am Jessey and I love taking care of people and cleaning, I am great with taking care of injured people because when my mom broke her back I was the one mostly giving her a bath and taking care of her. I have not yet gotten my license so this job might be a little hard for me but it will be okay because I will figure out how to take care of everyone. I am still in school so I will have to be limited to certain hours and days.
