Hello, I am a young energetic, helpful, and compassionate young woman that just graduated from Indiana University. As a caregiver I believe in working with the client versus working for the client. It is imperative to me as a caregiver to learn what's best for the client to provide personalized care. I am passionate about caring for others and working with them to be able to live and cope with daily life. I am personally proud of how patient and empathetic I am as a young woman, my ability to work well with anyone and by myself has helped me be a beneficial contribution to any family or individual seeking my help.

I'm a single mother of 2 teenagers. I have 10 years experience in home health work and medical assisting.

During my childhood years, caring for my elderly grandparents was a part of my everyday life. They had several health issues and were in and out of hospitals frequently. I was exposed to caregivers in many different settings. The impact that kind, compassionate and informative care-giving made all the difference to me and my family. At the age of 12, I knew nursing was what I wanted to do with my life. As I pursued nursing, I started out caring for patients in a nursing home as a nursing assistant. I loved this, as I got to care for clients, just like my grandparents. The opportunity to establish connections with clients week-to-week was special! After nursing school, I moved to caring for patients in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. The hospital experiences have given me a broad scope of skills, whether it is assisting patients with basic self-care needs, changing dressings, managing ventilators or providing education, being able to establish a rapport with patients and their family's is still one of the favorite parts of my job. I love being able to help people understand what is going on with their health and their treatment plan. Just as others demonstrated to my own family, I want each of my clients and their family members to feel safe, cared for and heard.

I became a CNA 8 years ago because I really enjoy helping people out and also being able to be there to make someone that is going through a tuff time in life smile and feel great. My personal achievement would be and the end of the day the person telling you thanks and what a great job you do. I enjoy being a caretaker I believe that is my duty in life

My name is Lilly, I have been a cna for 5 going on 6 years. I wanted to become a cna because I love helping and taking care of other people. I want to be a caregiver because it allows you more one on one time with your patients.

I left my career as a hearing specialist to care for my parents before they passed. I have specialized and extensive care with Alzheimer's/Dementia , Parkinson's, Cancer, and diabetic patients. My duties included cognitive and physical stimulation, mobility assistance, meal preparation, medicine management, companionship, assist with feeding, dressing, showering and toileting, running errands, transportation to appointments, all housework, laundry, and other nursing duties. I enjoy taking my clients on day trips to museums, picnic in the park, long walks, going to church or out to eat, or staying in watching tv or doing crafts and puzzles. I became a caregiver because I wanted to do something different. I like to help others. A personal achievement for me is helping the four girls that I have worked with at the group home I'm at now. I first decided to become a caregiver after my mother got sick and I had to take care of her. I think it is important to help those who need it.
