I have been a caregiver for over 30 years. I began as a teenager in nursing homes but found in home care when I was a personal trainer. I was training a client in her home and it was then that I decided I wanted to spend more time helping the elderly remain in their homes. I am very easy going but I'm a a great worker. I do my best to help each individual maintain their dignity and respect while maintaining as much independence as possible. I enjoy the fact that people are comfortable with me at a time when someone must come into their environment which has been sacred to them for so long. It's not easy but I think I make it a bit easier.

I have a lot of patience, and I love and enjoy taking care of those who can't take care of themselves. I became a caregiver, because there are a lot of people who are unable to take care of themselves, and some of them need special care. The fact that I am giving care, it gives me a inner peace. It makes me feel like I am completing a mission, that, I am here to do. I am very proud to be a caregiver, and I will always be willing to do my best to help those who can't help themselves.

I pride myself in being a compassionate, knowledgeable, and exceptional caregiver with over 10 years experience. I have been in employed in various settings including, but not limited to: mental health, dementia, and addiction settings. I chose to become a caregiver because I have always identified as someone who likes to give back and help others. I was born a caregiver. All throughout my life, even as a child, I had to "take care" of everyone and everything. It was what gave me personally,the best feeling of assisting someone else in their personal growth and well being. Giving care both allows me to give my clients the best possible care which will enable them to achieve their best possible ability to have independence and dignity as well as being able to live their life to their to the fullest extent. This allows me to feel as if I have been able to make a difference in their life. One of the proudest, personal achievements in my life is the fact that I just graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from MCPHS University at 52 1/2 years old and was able to keep up with all my younger colleagues on both an academic level as well as a physical level. I had never attended college after high school, so I had to start my education from the very beginning reviewing my math and relearning my sciences as so many things had changed since I graduated high school. My personal life experiences will provide me to give my patients the best possible care available.

I have always had a passion in caring for elders. I have completed the Health Technology program at Upper Cape Tech and I have my CNA, HHA and CPR certification. My goal in caring for older adults is to make them feel safe and cared for.

What makes me a good caregiver I'm passionate and care about personal connections. What made me want to become caregiver is I love to help people and I'm natural nurturer.
