My name is Michaelann, from Marlette, Mi. I am CPR/ first aide certified and have completed my CNA courses. I would love to be a caregiver for any age group, I love to help and spend time with other people when they are in need.

I have worked as a Caregiver over 20years, doing Home Healthcare, Foster Care and in Skilled Nursing Facilities. I have experience with children as well as adults and elderly with Autism, Alzheimers, Dementia, Hypertension, Diabetes, Asthma and too many others to name. I received my CNA in 1996 and found my career passion not just a job. Thank you for your time I look forward to hearing from you.

What helps me be a great caregiver is that I am a very compassionate and patient person. I treat your loved ones as one of my own family members. I make sure I listen to all their needs, wishes, and wants, and I try my best to make that happen. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that I feel the need to make sure your loved ones are taken care of properly and getting their ADL's met daily. I do this because that is how I would want someone to treat my loved ones. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I am able to have conversations with your loved ones daily, and to make sure that I am the reason their life and your life is 100% easier. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I pushed myself to enroll in a CNA Class and to push myself to give my son a better life then I had.

I was a CNA at a long term care facility. I also worked in a Alzheimer's and dementia unit. I have great empathy and compassion for the elderly. They can teach us so much! I'm proud of being a helpful hand when someone needs it. I had a man who was suffering from dementia and a septic toe that ultimately took his life... but I would sing to him and it would calm him down. He passed in my arms. I'll never forget him. I'm proud that was able to bring a little amount of joy into his world while he was experiencing his worst.

I have seen a need in helping the elderly generation with everyday life when my grandfather himself became ill and the nurses and staff that came to help were not very warm or personal. I thought to myself I could do a better job than that. I like being a care giver because I am actually making a difference in someones life.

I just moved here from Arizona, to come and be with my husband's family. Getting use to alot of new things. I have three kids of my own and three step kids as well as two grandchildren and two more on the way. I have ton of experience doing caregiving for about ten years now, and I can't see myself doing anything else.

Priding myself apon three basic principles; Always be honest, (it is the best policy,) treat others as you want to be treated,(with compassion and understanding,) and always respect other people's wishes, choices, and dignity, ( little respect goes a long way). Taking care of others is such a rewarding career choice. Over the years I've often said I didn't decide to be a caregiver I was born to be one! It is part of me and just who I am. My mother says I've been mending broken wings and bringing home strays since I could walk. I am a highly skilled Certified Nurse Aide with excellent references seeking a position in which i can utilize my skills and experience. Having skills in self direction as well as the ability to be self reflective coupled with strong values and morals I feel sets my quality of care above the rest.
