My name is Chelsea. I have worked in nursing homes/ primary care for 10 years. I find myself a very caring, compassionate, patient and understanding person. I try to find the good in every situation. In the last year I took a break from healthcare and took a position in childcare. Somewhat the same as care giving but on the other end of the spectrum. I enjoy creating relationships with my patients and giving them the care they deserve. While working in elderly care I found a majority of the staff was there for the paycheck, I can't say that for myself. I felt important as I became closer with my residents as they felt the comfortable with me as they couldn't with some of the staff. Caring for people makes me feel good because I am making someone feel happy and that is important at their time in life no matter what age, Having to have help is always hard and to have someone that understands , is patient and kind is key in my eyes.

My story.. When I was 14 years old my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. She declined very fast and my grandfather (already being 76 years old) couldn't care for her on his own. So my twin brother and I moved in full time with my grandparents and helped care for her at a very young age. Soon after she passed my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, and my family was ready to find a LTC facility (Long Term Care facility) where they could care for him. My brother and I absolutely refused the idea of him being moved out of his home he worked so hard for, so we then continued to take care of him until last year. My whole life has been dedicated to caring for other individuals. Not only do I hold myself to the highest standards of care, but I love doing what I do and show compassion at an all time high, because I put myself in other individuals shoes. This job/career will be my career for a lifetime and I am an extremely family orientated person.

I am a natural-born caregiver. Caring for others has been a skill that naturally came to me. I am fun, loving, outgoing, and have a very big heart. I enjoy meeting new people. One of my biggest reasons for being a caregiver is the satisfaction you have at the end of the day, knowing you helped another person and left a positive impact on their day.

I am a natural care giver at heart. Its in my nature to always being careing for others. I have always wanted to be a nurse so i can help others .caregiving is the most rewarding career. I have gained so much from my clients. I love people and exspecially my elders. I have always been refereed to as an old soul. Im extremely patient .a very good listener and of coarse compassionate exspecially for my clients. Caregiving has truly given me a purpose and thats been to make someones weeks, months or last years of there life the best they can be . There is nothing more rewarding then watching that happen.

I'm a very outgoing person with a bubbly personality! I'm very patient and willing to work with who ever and not only have this as a job but be a friend as well!

What makes me a great caregiver is my many years of experience, I have been a nurses aid for 30 years. I have worked in Hospitals, Rehabs, Nursing facilities, and I have done private duties. I have also worked as an office manager at a Boarding House and worked with the Homeless. I became a caregiver because I was brought up by a caring mother that has always found satisfaction in helping those less fortunate than herself, I truly believe in giving back the same love, and understanding I was raised on. I have Bachelors Degree in Science, I specialized in Addiction. I hope to become a counselor some day to help those to have a better understanding of themselves.

Experience as lna for 18 years

I have always been a caregiver, established with a lifetime of nursing experience. I have been a geriatric nurse until I retired in 2003 and since then I have had several home care positions which I especially enjoyed doing. I like the accomplishment of making a persons life better because of what I have been able to do for them. I am an artist, poet (member of the Poetry Society of NH) read often with other poets, do crafts and work a loom. life is never dull. This time of the year I work my gardens and enjoy kayaking and fishing. Life is good.

I am proud of overcoming adverse childhood experiences in my life. I became a caregiver to serve others in an empathetic, humorous and creative way. I strive to provide a high level of care through positive relationships and supportive communication.
