I am very compassionate and empathetic. I have taken care of others for many years including family members suffering from dementia as well as other cognitive and physical disorders. I decided to become a caregiver because growing up my grandmother had early onset Alzheimer's, I watched how her caregivers supported her but our family as well. I started working at an assisted living facility during college and then transitioned into home care. I feel like often times when being a caregiver you are meeting someone at a challenging point in their life. It takes understanding, patience, kindness.
