Hi! My name is Kathy Masino. I am a retired Registered Nurse who decided to stay at home and raise my 3 beautiful children who are now grown and doing their own thing out in the world. I could not be prouder of them or more thankful for the opportunity I had to stay home and raise them. I truly miss the nursing aspect that brought much joy and fulfillment to my life. I would love the opportunity to work again with the elderly in the capacity of a companion with the added benefit of having a nursing background. I believe everyone deserves respect, dignity, compassion in the elder years. Growing old is not easy and unfortunately Father Time gets us all! I became a caregiver mostly because when I was a younger girl, I was raised by my god mother who was the absolute best person I've ever met. Unfortunately she became very ill and even though I was young I did everything I could to help, to care for her, and to make sure she knew she was loved. When she passed away in 2005 I started working in a senior living center where I found the love of helping others like I did when I cared for my mom. I knew it was what I wanted to do. I love being a caregiver because when I see the expression on others faces after helping them, and making their lives as easy a possible it honestly puts a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. A personal achievement over the years of caregiving has to be the amount of levels of experience and different fields I have worked in the health field. Looking back now I am extremely proud of starting out years ago and thinking about all the things I've done, the people I have helped, and the experience I have gained. A little about me.. I am very hard working, motivated, and honest human being. I have a good personality and I love to make others smile. I love being a caregiver and I have always put my best effort forward when it comes to my job. Outside of work I love being with my family, and my friends. Spending time outside, seeing new places, movies and music.

I started working as a Direct Support Professional for my current company Nov 2018. I was quickly moved up to senior direct support professional and given more responsibilities with over seeing staff in my managers absence along with providing services for the 4 individuals in the home. In April of 2019 I recieved a promotion to management where I not only worked closely with the individuals but also overseeing many full and part time staff. I enjoy working as a caregiver because of what I take from the experience of helping others who are unable to help themselves. I enjoy encouraging them and watching them succeed at the tasks they are performing. Every success for someone I am working with is also a success for myself. It means I am doing the job I was hired for and providing them the confidence and support they need to continue growing and becoming stronger.
