I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

My parents passed when I was young and l cared for both of them in my home. I'm very compassionate and understanding and utilize my skills so your loved ones get the best quality care. I've been in my profession for 25 years and loving everything about it. Helping people keep their independence or giving the extra help they need is a pleasure in my books. I have my certifications for the state of Florida I also have my CPR And First AID Training. I also have my own Health insurance car insurance and license. I believe in providing the best possible care for every senior I work for. I'm a very hand's on caregiver, by that I mean I will never be on my phone or computer while the senior is awake or in need of something. I will talk to them and listen to all their stories, even if they make them up or recite them to me 20 times. I will never let them sleep all day or take a nap unless you want them to. I don't allow them to do this because I want to keep them on a schedule so they don't mess up yours. I will never leave them in bed all day, because they can develop very painful bed sores easier this way. If they like and are allowed to go on walks or play board games I will gladly do this with them. I will also prepare meals, shower them, take them to the toilet or change their diappers, change their feeding tubes, and do house work. I provide all of these services so that you don't become overwhelmed with the caring of your senior.

I am a senior nursing student at IUP, and I will be graduating in may. I am very compassionate and love the field of work I am in. I have experience with caring for the elderly, as I was a caregiver for my neighbor back in High School. Since I am a senior student I have completed all areas of nursing (I will be in Psychiatrics and community nursing this upcoming semester). I am stroke and CPR certified, and also have general and military background checks and clearances. Upon graduation I will be a Active Duty Nurse in the Army.
