I'm a natural leader. I've eventually been promoted to a leadership role in almost every job because I like to help people. I find coworkers usually come to me with questions or concerns even when I'm not in a leadership role because if I don't know the answer, I'll at least point them in the right direction. I am a certified EMT. I have worked in roles of customer service since I was 16 and find that is where I thrive. In such roles in which I am able to help provide assistance or a service to another individual on a daily basis.

I became a CNA in 1997 when my aunt was in a nursing home. I saw all the folks that needed love and care and thought I would give it a try. Well 2014 I am still a caregiver and can not imagine doing anything else. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home Health Agencies , Group Homes and private duty. My favorite being private duty with one on one care. I love helping people with their everyday needs and try to put some spice in their life by taking them out or offering fun activities in the home. I am willing to travel away from home, currently all my clients are in Centre County.

I join Health Care services in 2005. Since then the experience acquired and wonderful people I've met has been a source of encouragement to me. They call me a wonderful Caregiver, and 'am blessed with this.

I became a caregiver because it gives me a sense of pride. I love the idea that I am able to make a differnece in somebodys life doing the simplest of things. My greatest achievement is getting my CNA. I wouldnt change my career for the world.

Hello! My name is Larissa - located in Shermans Dale but willing to travel. I currently work as a caseworker, however prior to this I worked for over four years at Country Meadows Retirement Communities. I started my time there as a personal care associate in their memory support unit, where I learned to interact and understand those with various forms of dementia. I developed a love of caring for those who have memory support needs and took a position as the memory support dynamic living associate. In this position I helped created and carry out activities for the unit. I have loved making my residents laugh and smile every day - I miss working with the elderly and learning about their lives/accomplishments. I am Validation certified - a program dedicated to learning how to communicate with those with dementia. I look forward to meeting your loved one and ensuring they receive the best care!

My oldest sister was a can and she thought I would be good at it so I decided to give it a try in 1990 and have been doing it ever since. I love helping others. I took a 3 month course while working at riverwoods and became a gcna. I have been a can since 1990 I took gcna classes at riverewoods that specializes you in geriatric care I am very devoted and dependable.

I want to be a care giver because I just spent the past six months taking care of my father who has since passed on, I enjoyed spending time with him even though in the end he really didn't remember that I was his daughter anymore. I love helping others, in a way I think it helps to fill a void in ones life. I think that Geriatrics is my specialty I enjoy it because the clients have so much wisdom to share. I like to think I will help to improve their quality of life and ease some suffering. An employer should hire me because I know you need staff who can show true compassion, who are good with elder clients and who will make sure that the client has all that they need before my shift ends and things are left tidy. I really enjoy working with all different types of people, and helping them stay as independent as they can be. It’s really important to me to be polite and friendly, when I worked in the retail field I tried to get every customer to smile before they left my store! It has been a while since I had to take care of another person be sides myself, my youngest child is 27 years old , but I don’t think you lose the passion to please the others and make sure they always get the care they need– I haven’t.
