I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

I am a Happy,caring,compassionate,patient,energetic and very attentive to my clients. I LUV to cook I keep a clean house and put a smile on someone face and make them laugh . I feel my greatest accomplishment is when I work with someone who felt hopeless and No one cares or there a burden and I make them feel like there completeting me. I'm a caregiver who is honest dependable never late for work, I love what I do I take passion in caring for my clients. I have been a care giver for 37 years. I became interested in being a caregiver when a lady ask me for help she told me that she was not able to bathe herself. which I did help her and did not take any money from her she thanked me. So after that I assisted her with her care when I could and helped her to find more help. that is when I decided that this is what I wanted to do. I like seeing their faces when they get the help that they need just seeing that smile on their face is priceless. My personal achievement that I'm so proud of. I worked with this lady who wanted to work part time I found her a job which she had to volunteer for a week to see if she was able to do the work. I assisted her showing her what she needed to do. after 3 days she was offered the job I was so proud of her. she worked part time at the job and later was offered a supervisory position.

Hello my name is Jamie. I currently work at wvu medicine. I love working with my patients to help them overcome the struggles of their daily lives. I wanted to be a caregiver since my sophomore year of high school. I did a year of medical assisting and a year of home health care. I am currently working in the icu, cardiology department with wvu medicine. I am a very fast learner, I enjoy doing different things with the people I take care of to widen their perspections. I got tired of working in a nursing home where residents felt as if they were caged 24/7 and limited to what they are able to do, so I widened my opportunities on where I can take my cna career and better my job opportunity. I enjoy the one on one interactions that I get with my residents and being able to learn my resident more so than I would in a different environment.
