Hey there, My name is Melody DeGrave and I live in Green Bay. I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant/LPN. I previously worked as a CNA for 7 years in Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Rehab facilities and Disabled homes. I have been a nurse for 5 years at Aurora Healthcare working as a float nurse in OB/GYN, behavioral health, pediatrics, family practice and internal medicine. I recently started a new position with St Elizabeth hospital in the heart and lung unit. I previously took care of a paraplegic man in his home for 3 years with a hoyer lift. I would go to his home every morning before work and give him a shower/ get him ready for the day and give him any meds or apply any topicals he may have needed. I loved doing this, I am capable and I am more than willing to help where help is needed. I currently work Monday-Thursday 830:430. I would be willing to help any times outside of those hours. I became a care giver because my love to help others. I volunteered at the local nursing homes, veterans hospital and at church. Why do I like being a caregiver? I would have to say being able to help others and the history in the hearts and minds of my patients. I learn more from first hand accounts of the individuals who have live it. What is a personal achievement I am most proud of? I served in the military as a hospital corpsman for 5 years. I was deployed during Desert Storm and was able to educate and save all the marines under my care. I am thoughtful and loyal. My experiences and knowledge have further confirmed why I love what I do.
