I started my nursing career in the field of mental illness and depression. Working with this population has given me the ability to see the person as a person and not diagnosis on a chart. At the end of my shift I replay my day and find joy and peace to have made a difference in someone's life. This could be by having a conversation, treating a wound, de escalating a client or simply being present for my clients.
