About Tia

I am a great caregiver because I truly enjoy what I do, and therefore it shows! I could not ask for a better job than helping someone in need. It is the most fulfilling job in the world. After many years of doing assorted jobs, (including wedding and portrait photography) I finally found something that truly fulfills me, in every way! I really love it! Please call me for my current availability, as it can change! I have a very easy-going, friendly personality; and I get along with most everyone, (which I think really helps me enjoy what I do!) I love all animals, so if you have a dog or a cat, I will make sure they are also taken care of as part of the family! I enjoy cooking and keeping a clean home, and I drive, so I can take you to your appointments, shopping trips or meetings.

I have been employed with Eleanor's Friends since 2013, but I really started working for them on a regular basis at the end of 2014. (They were a fairly new company, and it took them a while to find a match for me with a full-time case.) I prefer to work full-time, (or part-time cases back to back). I worked with a really wonderful gentleman, who had mild dementia. He lived close by, had a wonderful sense of humor and was such a pleasure to spend time with! He still calls me occasionally to fill in, I guess I left an impression! Then I found a great job in my neighborhood right here on Carelinx.com, next. Which is where I work part-time now..

My first job on Carelinx.com was for a 90-year-old man with Parkinson's Disease, (who lived about 3 minutes from my house!) His wife suffered from dementia, and had a hard time moving about, due to bad knees. So I came in and cared for their animals, (walked the dog and fed her and the cat). I also did light housework and made their meals while I was there. He was a wonderful patient, really sweet man. I helped transfer him from the couch to the wheelchair (and back) when he ate or needed to go to the bathroom and with washing up and going to bed. Unfortunately his illness progressed to where he needed more advanced care, (from an RN). So I no longer work there.

I loved working for this company! The owner was a really sweet and caring man, and he went waaay out of his way for the clients, (and the caregivers, too)! Plus it was located in San Clemente, so the clients lived minutes away from my house! You can't beat that! I truly enjoyed working there.

I started working for CareMinders so that I could get more hours, and I really enjoy working with them! The cases were a lot more "medical", (as opposed to companion care) than the previous cases I have worked, and I have learned quite a bit because of it! I just finished my second hospice case, (she started out as a live-in caregiving case, but her illness spread a lot more rapidly than we anticipated). I also had a few companion cases for them, and I really enjoyed working for this company. Unfortunately, they shut down.

I primarily did companion care cases with Comforcare. I had one case for the 4 years I worked there, M-W-F, from 1-5pm. I prefer full-time work, and unfortunately I was only able to have full-time work with them for short periods of time. When I was given the opportunity to take a full-time job with CareMinders, I did.
