Lucrecia A.

I took care of my mother when she had a stroke for 4 years. I gave everything i have...that is time. I thought about caregiving because i want to share the love that i gave for my mother and i told myself that one day i can make other older people smile again and be happy. I am very much indeed proud of myself due to the fact that i had a client by herself. I went to see her one day..without me knowing...when I knock on her door i heard her yelling for help..i went around her house to see if any of her windows open or even unlock...her gardener was even there at that time. I have asked for his help....he saw one window unlock. He opened the window and open the door for me.When i got inside the house...we found her on the floor lying down. I dialed 911 stat. fire department came right away..she told me she had fallen and been lying down on the floor for almost 24 hrs. She thanked me all the time whenever i call or went to visit her. About myself...i graduated college in 1982 with AA degree in nursing and business administration. But i started working as nursing assistant while going to school. I have worked at Harbor UCLA for 18 years as census controller and all around clerical duties and nursing duties as far as admitting and discharging patients as well as put newly grads doctors in training on how to write drs orders.take vital signs etc.I have worked as a CNA for the last 6 years.
