I have a lot of patience and understanding which I believe is crucial to making those who are home-bound more comfortable. I have taken care of children who have had the measles and chicken pox. I have taken care of parents until there death. My father had skin cancer and then a brain tumor. My mother had Crohn's disease and then a heart attack. I took care of my pregnant niece when she was bed ridden with third pregnancy while her husband was deployed. I spent time in the NIH Clinic and helped them with various patients being treated with cancer, epilepsy, Parkinsons, etc. I believe that I have the patience for taking care of disabled children or adults. I am temporarily out of work as I am a male caregiver as my patients went in for additional surgeries.

    Taking care of three gentlemen during the course of my employment. The first gentlemen was completely paralyzed and went back in for additional surgery. I dressed him, prepared meals, assisted into wheelchair, assisted in showering, etc. The second gentlemen had MS and was bed ridden. Prepared meals, used medical lift to go from bed to wheelchair to shower, etc. Returned to previous caregiver position was temporary. Third gentleman was paralyzed and changed diapers, used lift to put in wheelchair to shower. Helped him with exercising to move arms, legs and feet. He went to hospice care.
