I have been a caregiver since 2009. I have a great passion for taking care of others and have spent most of my working career doing so. I have extensive experience in almost every area providing care for this population. I have worked with a variety of Alzheimer's and dementia clients as well as Parkinson's, MS, Diabetes, severe respiratory issues, Huntington's disease , cancer and those on hospice all which include many different special needs. I have a degree in Psychology from CSUS that I earned in 1983. If there's something new I'm not familiar with, I'm more than willing to learn. I love to cook and most likely can make almost anything up on request. I'm always willing to do house cleaning and laundry. I take pride in my work and always go above and beyond what is expected of me. I enjoy conversing with those I provide care for, they always have such interesting memories and history. My mission is to always treat my clients with the compassion, respect and dignity they deserve. I also work at the San Juan Unified School District with Autistic preschool children which requires much energy, patience and understanding. I am also fully vaccinated. Caregiving has been a part of my whole life. Family and friends whenever in need. Becoming a caregiver was my calling. Being compassionate with someone makes us all better people, regardless of ones capacity to care or their need of care...it's my goal to do my best to keep my client comfortable and not needing anything. My personal achievement only in part was going to college and getting my Bachelors Degree in Health Admin. My goals are not finished, but caring for others along the way is what my calling is. I have taken care of my mother until her death from complications of MS, my grandson since he was a baby....currently 16, but losing his battle everyday. So caring about people and their dignity and their rights to have care and compassion in their lives is important to me. Even if that means never saying a word and just being present.
