1 I became a caregiver because that was the only job that I could do when I first arrived in the US of America. Caregiving is part of our culture in our country where our parents cared for their parents in their homes and also the elderly in our community. My parents have instilled in me this love caring ways for the elderly at such an early age. 2 Being a Caregiver has opened my eyes to see and learn a lot of new things. It has also given me a lot of chances to meet a lot of people and see a lot of new places. 3 I am proud to say that I have helped a lot elderly clients enjoy their independent without their children, grandchildren or family members interfearing in their lives. 4 You can call me Sai and I am a female caregiver. I am a Dementia and Alzheimer's specialist. I am experienced in Memory Care. Memory Care clients are my favorite people in all of healthcare! Though my first pick is with the Dementia and Alzheimer's clients, I have had other clients with other conditions, such as, stroke, diabetes and congested heart failure etc.. In 2011 when my ex mother in law became sick I became one of her caregivers. It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed caring for her. I do believe this is my calling. I was once offered a position as manager of a home health company. I did not think I could do that job. I was right because I need to be the caregiver not the office person. I love my job. I like everything about caregiving. I love my seniors. I love their stories and their laughter. I'm happy when they are happy. I look forward everyday to seeing my seniors. I love cooking, cleaning and fussing over my seniors, so I'm a natural at caregiving. Remember if you love what you do it's never a job. My fee starts at $25 an hour. My fee increases if the shift is split. Also would like employer to pay a share of taxes. I am currently working for $24 an hour but I am not so sure that after 36.5 months it's working.
