In my opinion, a great caregiver is someone who not only has the correct technical and medical training to provide proper care and assistance, but someone that also finds joy in working with and caring for others. The process of caring for and helping people is a rewarding experience for me. I enjoy one-on-one care as opposed to the quick and impersonal work performed in a large facility. I'm successful in my career because of the attention to details I provide my patients, taking the time to listen and getting to know them. I am also able to maintain a professional relationship without blurring the lines of caregiver and friend. My duties require me to be able to make decisions that are in the best interest of the patient, while providing a personalized caregiving experience. I am also a recent graduate of a college nursing program. This is a proud achievement of mine and an important step in my overall plan of becoming a Registered Nurse. I work well with both male and female patients. I find some male patients have a more relaxed and accepting view of home health aid by working with a male caregiver like myself.
