Provide hands on care and perform routine tasks to elderly, disabled, mentally ill, and injured patients. Answer patient calls and respond to emergencies. Develop nurturing relationships with patients. Manage personal hygiene such as bathing, shaving, providing nail, hair and skin care, assisting with dressing and undressing. Change bed linen, make beds, and perform housekeeping duties in patient room and or home. Observe and report abnormal changes or patterns about patients' physical, mental and emotional conditions and behavior to nursing staff and family. Check and record vitals that includes: blood pressure, pulse, respiration. Measure patient's weight and height, observe patient's responses and changes to medications. Perform basic operation and maintenance of medical equipment such as oxygen tanks and nebulizers. Ambulate and follow proper procedures for lifting and moving patients. Prepare and check food trays, assist patient with feeding. Monitor, observe and record food and fluid intake and output. Collect body fluids for testing purpose, assist patient with bed pans, urinals, colostomy, catheter bags, recording all output. Administer bandage and dressings as directed. Examine patients for bruises, injuries, wounds and blood in urine. Turn and reposition patients as required. Provide fresh water and nourishments in between meals, and maintain patient stability, as well as provide patient comfort.
