Working for this agency allowed me to gain access to a diverse population that consisted of subacute, long term care, and locked unit psychiatric and memory care, patients/residents. My responsibilities and duties were as follows: Travel to and from worksites, which were not for each workday in the same place. Report abuse of any kind, change of conditions, vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations), percentage of food consumption, refusals of any kind. Assist in ADL's (Activity of Daily Living), dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, showering, eating, ambulations/locomotion on and off units, wheelchairs, beds, transferring to and from wheelchairs to beds or vice versa. Infection control safety protocols were consistently followed. The safety of all patients demonstrated and consistently followed. Turning Bed Bound patients every 2 hours Providing companionship, comforting by listening, and communicating with residents/patients. Working beside as well as assisting by communicating effectively with RNs (registered nurses), LVN's (Licensed Vocational Nurses), CNA's (Certified Nursing Assistants) as a team member. Documenting Patients Progress by using ADL charting.
