HI, my name is Nicole ( Nicky) & I specialize in private home care as well as hospital after care and have been a care specialist for 10 years+ Becoming a caregiver was an unexpected twist in my life. At the age of 41 my best friend was diagnosed with Colon Cancer & my journey began. You are immediately part of a team; patient, family, doctors & yes the disease. Hospice, was what I learned and experienced next. This is where the most important work comes in, nurturing., when just being with another person is all you can do. After the loss of my best friend, there was no way I could go back to pushing paperwork in an office. My first clients were so much fun, two sisters in their late 90's both with Dementia. They loved walking to the park, they even liked the work out equipment at the park. They could actually wear me out there & of course when we would get home, they'd immediately forget that we'd already gone and want to go back, I knew physically they couldnt, and that's the only thing that saved me, it was funny. Finding humor in any situation, keeping the atmosphere light with a charge of calm energy, listening and picking up on non verbal cues, also extremely important. I moved to Fremont CA to help assist with my own grandmother's care. My family all pitched in which gave me the time & opportunity to start working with Carelelinx & three fabulous families over the next three years including the beginning of Covid. I've been working in Nevada for 2 years now. Very exited to become a part of your team. I bring calm energy, experience and ability. Experience: House Management (light light, housekeeping) Dementia, Aphasia, Parkinsons, mobile, not mobile. Autoimmune & pain management. All Post operation: including, plastic surgery recovery, replacement surgeries, Mastectomy, BBL, Mommy Makeovers, Masculinizing Chest Surgery etc. I've done it all, POSITIVELY! Again Im Nicole & Im dedicated to making every day, the best we can make it.

I was hired initially to help with rehabbing a hip and a knee for Mr. McKinney. He is super healthy and rehabilitation with him turned into a routine of; a couple of mornings a week coffee, cleaning, walking and errands. If I could be of help in any way that's why I was there. Loved every minute of it. We had a great time. Unfortunately the pandemic ended this position. For serious future clients only, references available.

My first experience with caretaking began in the hospital. My best friend of 30 years was dying of what started as colen cancer and spread. I left my job and began living in the hospital to just be with her until she was transferred home for hospice. Of course there were nurses as well who could give the pain medication, but everything else was done by her mother or myself. After my best friends passing I knew, I could not use anymore time not feeling beneficial or helpful in some way by pushing paper in an office. Being with other people, caring for other people was what and where I wanted to be.
