The reasoning of me choosing to be a caregiver, at first wasn't a choice. I felt obligated to take care of my step father mark after my mother rhonda passed away. Mark had a stroke 5years prior to my mothers passing. When she passed I was the only one that was willing and ready to take care of him. He was completely disabled. Was paralyzed on his left side. So I had to do everything for him. Mornings consisted of changing his diaper getting him up and transferring him to wheel chair, face wash brush teeth, dressed him. Cooked him 3meals a day. Took care of meds for him. He had alot of medication, took c are of his bills. So and so fourth. I also cleaned cooked was there for him mentally and physically. I am personally proud to have tooken care of someone who I thought in a million years would never need help. And me n him got closer after all that. I like being a care provider because it gives me a purpose in life. If I can take care or help someone in anyway then I feel like I have done something worthy, and also honorable. Plus the people you meet the stories they tell, that's something u can't get anywhere else. ... more
