Hello ! My name is Constance. I have been a private caregiver in my home to a woman with Huntington's disease for 4 years. She recently passed away I took her in as a renter and once I saw she had no support system I took her on in heart and spirit so that she would not be alone going through the changes with the terminal disease. In the four years, what we established together was that quality of life was the most important priority along with respect and dignity. A healthy creative on a budget meal plan witch I cooked every day for her was important.. I shopped and kept her wardrobe fun and upbeat matching shoes and glasses and accessories. Her activities included Music Theater comedy and outings with our family and even adult day care. I handled everything from medications to incontinence but most importantly advocating for her medical attention from all the doctors Specialists and therapists. Insurance companies are difficult to deal with I held strong to advocate for her rights to help hold off her disease at bey as long as possible I served as her D POA making decisions for her living as well as her passing. So early on we prepared for what she wanted leaving this life as she did not want to be in a nursing home nor a Hospital. I made sure at the end hospice was set up at home all the medical equipment needs were taken care of and with her sister and our families around her she was able to leave in the comfort of our home just as she wanted. I administered the medication kept her in comfort and was with her. We had a memorial service at the beach the ocean that she loved. Please let this cover letter serve as my resume. Before Miss Beverly came into my life I had a full career in entertainment and though it was fun, I found Miss Beverly in my life for 4 years more purposeful and rewarding.
