A little bit about myself. I am a 33 year old woman. I have a 15 year old son who has Cognitive abilities disorder who I take care of on my own. I also watch over my mother who has diabetes, glaucoma, and osteoporosis. I have been a CNA for almost 4 years. I have worked in skilled nursing facilities and one Alzheimer facility. I am currently attending Stanbridge College in hopes in receiving my Associates in Occupational Science, to become an OTA. I decided to become a caregiver because I love helping others that can no longer care for them selves. It feels really good to hear, "Thank you" and it's followed with a smile. I feel like some elderly are put put away in nursing homes and are forgotten. I'm here to let them know that they are not forgotten, they are loved, and that they do mean something to someone. Even if it's someone that's not their family member. I am proud that I am a CNA. This isn't just a job to pay my bills. This is a passion that comes from within.
