About Steven

I began by taking care of my best friend who was an incomplete paraplegic in 2008 after his mother passed away.I then became his live-in caregiver for 9 years pretty much 24/7 until his passing last year in June.Being with him everyday I had learned the daily struggles & pain of what a disabled person goes thru every single day and how much of a difference I was making in his life by just co-existing with him thru his physical pain let alone the daily chores and other duties that came with the territory. In July of 2017 I got hired with an Agency taking care of elderly people.There I've learned so many new things like diaper changes,walking clients with a Gait Belt.Working with the Hoya Lift.Individuals with Dementia & Alzheimer's Disease.But also a lot of my experience with my friend has also transferred over like the cooking & cleaning,running errands whatever it may be.Transferring and bathing but last and definitely not least Compassion & Companionship.
