About Yeaji

As a care giver, I show both empathy and compassion to residents by understanding what they're going through. I love to get to know the residents one by one and make differences in their life. Life is complicated and hard for them, and I want to be there to help them with high quality of care. I wanted to become a CNA ever since my grandpa passed away during recovery after a knee surgery. He was at a skilled nursing and I went frequently to visit and see him. I've became close to his caregiver and that's when I decided to become one. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I get to be part of someone's life and make differences to their life. Small things like putting a smile on their face, making them laugh is better than nothing at all. I've found that they feel appreciated for caregivers to feel them better and being able to help them with ADLs. Personal achievement I'm proud of is communication skills and handling challenge and changes. I've had experiences in customer service that requires skills of communication. Also, I am proud that I have been able to pick myself up when things have gone wrong.

Everyone has a story. I like helping people and found working as a 'Home Care Aid' very fulfilling. Several years ago, my first client was a woman in hospice and I filled in so the family could get some rest. As I sat beside the lady, I looked around the room and saw pictures of her as a young woman on her wedding day, as a young mother and later as a grandmother. Her cook book was there with all kinds of personal notes etc. and just think I was so lucky to have been able to be there with her for that short time. Most of my clients I have been able to help with errands, transportation, meals, assisting with bathing and companionship. I value the time I have spent with the new friends I have made - short term and long term.
